On Sunday, January 25, 2009, following the Pastoral visit of Metropolitan Gerasimos, he was presented with the banks' declaration of loan completion at a luncheon attended by over two-hundred parishioners. His Eminence was invited to return in the future to formally "burn the mortgage" at our Consecration. His Eminence encouraged us not to become idle but to continue moving forward with the development of our community.

On December 9, the Feast of St. Anna (the mother of the Theotokos), the Parish Council paid off the note of our $800,000 loan (originated in 2001), by borrowing $16,686.90 from the Assumption Building Fund account. This account currently holds the funds for the Dream Campaign, Icon Dome Campaign, donations, memorial donations and insurance settlement monies. The funds will be replenished through parishioners completing their Dream Campaign pledges, new sponsors for the remaining Dome Icons and if needed, through fund raising events. May God's blessings continue to inspire each one of us to use our talents and treasures in such magnificent ways.
