Junior GOYA (Middle School)

The Junior GOYA (or Greek Orthodox Youth of America) of Assumption Church is another extension of our community’s broad youth and young adult ministry. Serving all teenagers 6th-8th grade, this ministry provides youth with opportunities to participate in worship, volunteer and engage in philanthropic activities, and grow their Orthodox Christian faith.  Founded on the principles of worship, fellowship, service, and witness, this national parish ministry is guided by Assumption's youth director and many adult and young adult volunteers. By getting involved in Junior GOYA, middle school youth learn to express their faith through a variety of hands on activities, including community outreach, informed dialogue, and liturgical services, and are further encouraged to take on leadership roles by helping with our various JOY and HOPE events (such as Vacation Bible School); and all parish-wide activities.

Beyond weekly worship and Sunday School classes, programs tailored for our middle school youth include First Fridays, GOYA events and retreats, Altar Service, Greek Dance, All Saints Summer Camp (ASC), and numerous other ministries, events, and outreach.  An excellent opportunity for 6th-8th grade young people to participate and grow in our ancient faith, please contact our church office at (480) 991-3009 to get involved.
